Touristic activities

Lorient is at the heart of a region of more than 300,000 inhabitants in Southern Brittany. Industrial activities, technological innovations and economic performance combine to form a center of maritime excellence, marked in particular by a well-developed naval industry, by the leading French fishing port and by the leading European center for ocean racing.

Boating and ocean racing
Lorient is the leading European center for ocean racing. Lorient agglomeration has invested in infrastructures located in the former Keroman submarine base, allowing it to host skippers and companies specialized in ocean racing.

The Eric Tabarly Sailing City, which opened in April 2008, is the showcase of French sailing, with more than 6,000 square meters dedicated to the adventure of sailing and ocean racing.
