Journal of Composites Science published by MDPI Journal of Composites Science published by MDPI
The Journal of Composites Science (ISSN 2504-477X) is an online, open access journal. It focuses on advanced technology and development of composite materials and provides an interdisciplinary forum for publication of research papers, short communications and review papers which advance the properties, testing methods and applications of composites. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible so that the results can be reproduced. Therefore, there is no restriction on the length of the papers. The journal scope includes the following areas, although research in related fields may also be considered. Fiber reinforced composites; Novel composites; Nanocomposites; and more

Smart Plastics Group Smart Plastics Group
The "Smart Plastics" group has been dedicated for more than 15 years to the study of the "smart" functions of conductive polymer nano-composites (CPC). We have developed sensors for volatile organic compounds (VOC). Based on nanostructured CPCs with a multi-scale architecture, we have also created homogeneous strain sensors (QRS) capable of monitoring the health of composite materials in-situ, in the linear and non-linear deformation zone and up to failure. Different types of solicitations have been validated - static, dynamic, fatigue, shock - demonstrating the ability of QRS to follow the behavior of composites with excellent dynamics. Based on a patent filed in 2015 on "multilayer nanomaterials sensitive to a physical quantity" and after a 4-year maturation period, we created the start-up "SENSE in" in 2018 in order to industrialize QRS sensors for monitoring deformation and damage in polymer composite materials.
CNRS CNRS
The French National Centre for Scientific Research is among the world's leading research institutions. Its scientists explore the living world, matter, the Universe, and the functioning of human societies in order to meet the major challenges of today and tomorrow. Internationally recognised for the excellence of its scientific research, the CNRS is a reference in the world of research and development, as well as for the general public.
GDR PolyNano2 GDR PolyNano2
Groupement de Recherche CNRS 3661. The objective of the GdR is to create and animate a place of sharing, exchange and collaboration between all the actors concerned by nano-reinforced polymers. The main challenge is to understand, quantify and manage/control, in order to predict the nanometric effects on the entire chain of this new class of composite materials: elaboration, pretreatment and functionalization of fillers, formulation and implementation processes of composites, study of the rheology and dispersion state of fillers, study of the filler/matrix interface, identification of deformation, damage and failure mechanisms at different scales, characterization of the mechanical behavior and multifunctional properties of these materials.
Région Bretagne Région Bretagne
Brittany is now a recognized territory in terms of R&D, in France and in Europe, in many fields: cybersecurity, new materials, biology and marine technologies... To consolidate this position, we are carrying out a proactive policy of dissemination and technology transfer alongside the Breton authorities. Bringing together companies, research laboratories and training institutions around priority themes in the same sector of activity, competitiveness clusters encourage the emergence of innovative collaborative research and development (R&D) projects and the growth of member companies. The goal is to bring new products, services or processes to market.
